About The Way

The Way is an international journal of contemporary Christian spirituality, published by the British Jesuits. Through writing informed by critical and creative scholarship, it aims to provide a forum in which thoughtful Christians, from different walks of life and different traditions, reflect on Gods continuing action in human experience.

Among particular concerns of The Way are:

- the role of spirituality in the struggle for justice
- the spiritual issues raised by intercultural and interreligious dialogue
- the interactions between spirituality, politics and culture
- the fostering and development of the Ignatian spiritual tradition.

The history of The Way:

The Way- The Church of Yahweh in Christ Jesus believes itself to be the restored form of the original Church by Elpidio Gonzalez in 1989 while still a Roman Catholic. It was first introduced in the internet in February 2002. At this time, Elpidio Gonzalez was known as "The Catholic Yahwist" and still thought of himself as a Catholic, whose task was to warn the Pope.

He claims to have received a dream revelation on July 23, 2000 from God Yahweh and Jesus Christ.

He later adopted the name The Christian Yahwist in 2003 since many people don't consider him to be a Christian.

On January 1, 2004, the final break with the Catholic Church came, and Elpidio took his family out of communion with The Catholic Church to found his own Church. Since then, the word, the Christian Yahwist came to be associated with Gonzalez.

He also uses the name: The man of Yahweh in his articles and letters he has written to World leaders, religious leaders, and people in the internet. This came from a dream he had in October 29, 2001 about the singer and actor, Prince Roger Nelson, who has gone under many names , one being Prince (artist) .In the dream he was called The Man of Yahweh.

These days, Elpidio Gonzalez also uses the title "The Universal Yahwist", since he sees Yahweh as the God of The Whole World.
